How Can I Control Another Computer From My Computer?
Compared to the past, controlling one’s PC using another is easier than ever. Thanks to a bunch of remote PC access solutions out there, one doesn’t need to establish a Virtual Private Network or VPN to connect to remote endpoints easily. However, if you still have no idea how you can control a remote PC using another computer, we’ll show two of the most commonly used solutions on how you can do such function.
1. Windows Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) - Windows Remote Desktop Connection or RDC is a remote access solution designed by operating system Microsoft. The goal of this remote access tool is to allow users to access a remote endpoint from an off-site location. With Windows RDC, it will be easier for a user to perform certain computing tasks as on a remote computer as if he was sitting in front of it. He can fix technical issues, access apps, and even install updates. However, Windows RDC is disabled by default. To turn this feature on, follow these steps accordingly:
-
Open the Start window.
-
Type in remote settings into the Cortana search box.
-
Select Allow remote access to your computer.
-
Click the Remote tab from the System Properties.
-
Click Allow remote connections to this computer.
2. Remote Access Software - Remote access is a program that allows users to access another computer over a remote connection. Unlike Windows RDC, remote access software is designed to be used even outside of a local network. This means that you can use it from anywhere at any time with such ease and convenience. Typically, you need a stable internet connection first before you can establish a remote connection using this remote access tool. From there, you can now safely connect to remote endpoints and access them own.
