Aside from remote access software and Remote Desktop Connection, you can also connect to remote endpoints using your IP address. It is important to note that each computer has a designated IP address. An IP address is a set of numerical figures found in each computer to convey messages across the computing device and to map a drive. With this, you can connect to remote endpoints and perform several computing tasks. This means that you can fix issues, edit files, access apps, and perform certain administrative tasks. To connect to remote endpoints using an IP address, follow these steps below:

• The first thing you need to do is to open the Windows Start button. 

• Once opened, head on to the Computer tab by clicking its icon. This will direct you to an Explorer window that contains your hard drives.

• On the Explorer window, select the Map Network Drive button. This will direct you to a configuration window. 

• Once accomplished, select a drive letter in the drop-down box. This will allow you to set the drive letter for the shortcut, which will be then displayed on the computing device’s Explorer window. 

• Now is the perfect time to enter the location for the connection using the IP address of the computing device. For example, if you want to access your remote endpoint machine with the address “193.125.1.12.” then, you should type in the following: \193.168.1.10\c. 

• Once you’ve entered the IP address of the computer you want to access remotely, it’s time for you to select the Finish button.
