How Do I Use Remote Desktop on Android?

Windows Remote Desktop is a free remote access solution suitable for a lot of operating systems. This tool can also be used on an Android device to make remote connections. In this guide, we’ll show you how to use Windows Remote Desktop on Android.

• Download Windows Remote Desktop from Google Play Store. 

• Make sure that the PC that you’re going to remote to accepts remote connections.

• On a remote source, add a Remote Desktop connection. This connection will be used to connect to Windows-running computers.

• You can also try to create a widget in order to open Remote Desktop quickly. 

Once finished, it’s time for you to create remote connections. In order to this, follow these steps accordingly:

• Click the + button on the Connection Center tab. 

• Click on the Desktop option.

• Type in the following information for the target computer you want to remotely connect to.

  • Computer Name - This can either be the name of the computer, its IP address, or its internet domain name. 

  • Username - You can also try to enter the username of the computer you’re trying to remotely connect to. 

Once completed, you can now start creating a remote source. To do this, follow these steps below:

• Tap the + button on the Connection Center panel. 

• Select Remote Resources Feed. 

• Type in the necessary information needed for the remote resource.

  • URL or email - You can either type in the corporate email address or the URL of the RD Web Access server.

  • Username - The RD Web Access server’s username of the computer you’re trying to connect to. 

  • Password - The password of the RD Web Access server you’re trying to remotely access using Remote Desktop. 

Once finished, you can start creating a widget in order to get to Remote Desktop quicky. Follow these steps below:

• Open the app menu. 

• Select Widgets.

• Look for the Remote Desktop tab with the description Pin Remote Desktop.

• Click and hold the Remote Desktop icon and move it to your home screen.
